Version Workbench

The “Version Workbench” (VW) has an innovative and intuitive approach that allows you to mass change, compare, review, backup and restore the processing option values and data selections of both your interactive and batch versions.

If you've been there, you understand the problem:

-  Copy 1000 versions from entity one to entity two during roll out
And you have to update 1000 versions to change branch and company.......

-  Add a step to the sales process
And you have to change all your versions to introduce the new status....

-  Upgrade to 8.12 / 9.0
And find out options do not transfer straight......

-  Run into a production issue (you forgot to update that one version with a new status)
And try to convince your manager this is not as you planned it......

To enable you to work with your versions, Version Workbench turns your Specfiles (stored as a blob) into readable "Freezepoints" allowing you to access the information from your Specfiles in an understandable manner.

Once that is done, the Version Workbench contains tools to change processing option values or data selection values simultaneously for multiple versions of different programs.

By simply selecting the value, or selecting the versions to change the value for, the change is made for all associated versions.

In addition, report versions will be automatically checked out when its data selection changes due to a mass update operation.

Working with the Version Workbench gives you Processing Option and Data Selections consistency across all your environments and will speed up any roll-out.

The Freezepoints can be saved and used to compare to other Freezepoints from other environments and will provide you an Audit Trail for all your changes.

On top of all the above, the Version Workbench mass-change options allow you to:

Version Workbench will take the technology (and labour) out of JDE version Management.
Using the Version Workbench will give you consistent and easy updating of multiple versions simultaneously.

Customers will tell you they have found an average return on investment of 4 weeks!!
