Automate your Package Builds - PACKMAN

Do you have a requirement to build and deploy update packages on a regular basis? Then PACKMAN will reduce the strain on your CNC/Development resources by automating the manual, time consuming and error prone process of building update packages.

EnterpriseOne Package Manager (PACKMAN ) is a tool which has been designed and developed to significantly reduce the number of manual steps required to assemble, build and deploy update packages.  The result is a considerable reduction of errors typically involved in this process allowing your business more uptime.

PACKMAN is developed using the standard EnterpriseOne development toolkit.  Installing PACKMAN does not affect or impact the functioning of the standard JDE package build and deployment applications. You can always build and deploy packages the "old" JDE way if you wish. But..... after using PACKMAN we find that hard to believe.

Some PACKMAN highlights:

Automatic generation of an update package according to a predefined naming convention.  You are only required to enter a path code when creating an update package. Each update package is identified by a unique number making it possible for multiple update packages to be built on a daily basis.  PACKMAN will automatically select the current deployed full package as the parent package.

Selected languages in the update package.  PACKMAN can be configured to automatically to select any languages which need to be built.  The possibility of package builds being performed with incomplete or incorrect languages is reduced significantly .

OMW projects designated to be built and deployed for a particular path code can be automatically or manually selected .  All EnterpriseOne objects to be included in the package will be imported from the OMW projects.  It is no longer necessary to manually browse for and select the OMW projects and individual objects.  PACKMAN selects all objects in projects, which have a predefined project status and place those into an update package.  And yes, you can still add projects and their objects manually after the package has been created .

Automatic selection of enterprise server.  PACKMAN will automatically select which enterprise server(s) the package needs to be built on.  PACKMAN automatically selects the enterprise servers on which the relevant path code has been deployed .

Simultaneous promotion for all projects within an update package.  PACKMAN allows you to change the status of all projects within one or more packages simultaneously . Predefined project statuses can be used to determine whether a project has been built, deployed or is ready for promotion.

Supports EnterpriseOne 8.x and EnterpriseOne 9.x (tools release 8.9 5 and higher)

Spend an hour on an on-line demonstration and we will show you the rich functionality and ease of use of PACKMAN.  We will show how PACKMAN can be configured and implemented to help your organization get a maximum ROI from your CNC operations.
