Data Access Studio for Developers

Built from the ground up, Data Access Studio is a solution that allows you to create reports and query your OneWorld/EnterpriseOne® or Worldsoftware data.
Using its graphical interface, you can accomplish sophisticated tasks with ease. On top of the superior browsing and query functionality, Data Access Studio offers it's more advanced users features you always dreamed of!

Calculations
You can derive useful data on your grid in real-time, including:

Mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentage, etc.)
String operations (concatenation, substring, formatting, etc.)
Database table lookup (Simple Join)
Date operations, and more.....

This allows you to see each calculation as you design & debug as you design.
On top of this the calculation results behaves just like any other database column -- i.e., you can sort, group, summarize, etc.

Snapshot and compare any set of rows, columns, and tables
Compare your snapshot to any environment. The comparison shows all differences between snapshot and environment data.
This is very useful for verifying table conversions, test cases and environment issues like "HELP, It works in DEV but not in PROD".

Sort, group, hide/show columns
Select the column caption as: Alias, SQL Name, Long Name, Two-row description, Table.Column Name or your own caption

Create your own Business Views
With the Business Views functionality you can tie tables together using LEFT OUTER, RIGHT OUTER or SIMPLE joins.
You do not have to call your IT Department to do this for you. This allows you to create Header/Detail reports and if you combine this with the option to look for <BLANKS> you can create your own Integrity Reports as you need them.

MS Excel integration
With it's full Windows compliancy (CTRL-C, CTRL-V, etc) you can create a native copy of any selection from your grid to Excel.
Using the Embedded Excel option will allow you to integrate Excel into your Data Access Studio report.
This brings you the best of both: easy data retrieval and grouping in Data Access Studio and Excel operations in Excel - using your already existing knowledge of Excel! Should you change your Data Access Studio filters, the results will be automatically transferred to your Excel sheet.

Performance
Minimize performance impact by using the Index Assistant and DAS's efficient Hide Column option. This option will only retrieve information for the visible columns which results in reduced network traffic, reduced database utilization, and increased speed.

Use the Audit Trail functionality to measure the performance of your report before you release it.

Security

Uses standard OneWorld/EnterpriseOne security -- column, row, and table-triggers
Data Access Studio application level security.
Data Access Studio is Read-Only, no updates to your data are possible.

Reports and Printing

Publish reports to share with other users without having to ask your IT Department to deploy your reports
Publish to all, to a group, or to specific users using your JD Edwards User Profiles
Print the contents of all grids
Print preview, zoom in/out, header/footers
