JD Edwards reporting: Data Access Studio™          

Built from the ground up, Data Access Studio is a solution that allows you to create reports and query your OneWorld® data.  Using its graphical interface, you can accomplish sophisticated tasks with ease:

• Advanced data queries

• Sorting, Grouping, Totaling

• Report generation and printing

• Ability to view ODBC and OLE DB data (from legacy systems and non-OneWorld tables)

• Ability to snapshot data and compare to any environment

All this and more in a completely visual-based environment.  No programming is required!

General Capabilities

• You can open OneWorld® tables and business views, Published reports, OLE DB/ODBC data, and Snapshot data

• Progress bar shows percentage of table loaded

• Navigation controls show which row is selected and allows you to navigate through the data

• Filter boxes above each column filter as you type in values - letting you zero-in on the data

• Advanced filtering

  • List of values

  • Ranges

  • Wildcards

  • Composite queries

  • Distinct values

• You can change the appearance of all grids: colors, fonts, lines, column headings, etc.

• All grids provide export and printing

Grouping and Totaling

• Create level breaks visually

Column Operations

• Sort, group, hide/show columns 

• Select the column caption as: Alias, SQL Name, Long Name, Two-row description, or your own caption 

• Provide custom numeric and date formats 

• Auto-size your columns with the Best Fit operations

Reports and Printing

• Publish reports to share with other users

• Publish to all, to a group, or to specific users

• Print the contents of all grids

• Print preview, zoom in/out, header/footers

Security

• Uses standard OneWorld security -- column, row, and table-triggers

• Data Access Studio application level security.

Calculations

  You can derive useful data on your grid in real-time, including:

• Mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, etc.)
• String operations (concatenation, substring, formatting, etc.)
• Database table lookup
• Date operations
• and more

Some advantages of Calculation Columns are:

• Ability to see each calculation as you design & debug as you design
• Ability to hide intermediate calculations from the visible report columns
• Ability to form simple joins to other tables
• The Calculation Column behaves just like any other database column -- i.e., you can sort, group, summarize, etc.
